However, please refrain from using moisturizer on the day of your spray tan. If you use retinol, stop three days before and continue to avoid it for three days after your tan for optimal results.

Plan to have your spray tan as the final step in your beauty routine. Complete all other services—like hair, nails, waxing, facials, and brow treatments—at least 24 hours before your tanning session. Wax residue can hinder tan absorption.

Exfoliate Thoroughly:

Exfoliate your body consistently throughout the week leading up to your tan, with extra attention the night before. Avoid exfoliating on the same day as your spray tan.

Shave and Clean:

If you need to shave, do so at least 24 hours before your session. Wait until the third day after your tan to shave again if possible. Avoid shaving on the same day as your tan, as this can create a dotted appearance due to open pores. Be sure to use a razor without moisturizing strips or creams, as these can leave a film on your skin that blocks absorption. On the day of your session, ensure your skin is clean and free of any products.

Remove All Barriers:

Arrive for your session without lotions, serums, oils, perfumes, colognes, deodorants, makeup, or jewelry. Permanent jewelry, small earrings, and healed piercings can be accommodated, but everything else should be removed to prevent interference with the tan/causing unwanted tanlines.

Dress Comfortably:

Choose loose, dark-colored clothing for after your session. Tight-fitting clothes can affect tan development, so think big t-shirts, sweatshirts, and joggers without tight elastic. The less skin exposed, the better, as skin rubbing together can impact your tan. You may wear a bra during the session, but it's best to avoid one afterward. If you're a man, remember to bring dark-colored boxers for your tan.

It’s best to wait until at least 24 hours after your tan before wearing tight clothing, including your wedding dress, to avoid any transfer of color. After this period, your tan will have fully developed and you won't have to worry about color transfer! If you are nervous about any bronzer getting on your dress, we recommend brushing some finishing powder (Which we will provide you during your trial tan) all over your body.

Proper post care is crucial to achieving the best results and ensuring your tan lasts as long as possible! For the first 2-6 hours after your tan, it’s important to avoid water, sweating, and tight clothing. This initial period allows the tanning solution to fully marinate, ensuring a beautiful, even color.

After approximately 2 hours, you should rinse your hands with cold water, without using any soap, and gently pat them dry. Be careful to avoid letting any water run down your arms during this process to maintain an even tan.

Your first full body rinse will be tailored to your customized tanning solution and your specific color goals. During your session, we will discuss the exact timing for your initial full body rinse, ensuring it aligns with your desired outcome. For your full body rinse, use only lukewarm water and your hand to rub & rinse the bronzer completely off your body. Skip body wash & washing your hair until your 2nd rinse. (Shaving can be done after 2-3 days with a fresh, new razor) Pat yourself dry with your towel and then moisturize!

Moisturize every morning & night. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water. You can start using a tan extender, such as our Afterglow Essence, when your tan begins to fade!
